MANHASSET, NY (July 20, 2015) – Sheryl Crow headlined a private benefit concert at Old Westbury Gardens in support ongoing research initiatives of The Feinstein Institute for Medical Research.
Kevin J. Tracey, MD, president of the Feinstein Institute, the research enterprise of the North Shore-LIJ Health System, explained that having nine-time Grammy Award-winner Sheryl Crow perform, “Raised the energy, raised the enthusiasm to generate the kind of support we need to create a new future. A future where people will suffer less from disease and the world will be a better place.”
Over the last ten years, this event has raised more than $11 million dollars for research that is improving and saving lives through the work of more than 1,500 Feinstein scientists and researchers who have made important discoveries in several medical fields, including sepsis, autoimmune disorders, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease and schizophrenia.
Dr. Jennifer Ashton, senior medical contributor at ABC News and recurring co-host on The Doctors, served as emcee and talked about what really sets The Feinstein Institute for Medical Research apart. “They are great at doing the research and then literally, immediately, translating that into patient care.”
